Culprit Crappie Baits Does it Again

Well in 2006 I was fishing Sangchris Lake in Illinois, I tried everything in the tackle box plus live minnows trying to catch those crappie.  I just could not get them to bite, I remembered that I had bought some new kind of jig and wanted to try it out.  It was the Culprit Swim Fin Grub, that I had just purchased 2 days earlier.  Now if your like me, you'll try everything once.  Well I can tell you that it must have been the ultra thin fin that runs along the backside of the lure and finishes as a swimming tail, because I was catching slabs faster than I ever had before on a like jig.   This lure creates an unmatched wave of action even at slower retrieval speeds, and works great for vertical jigging or trolling.                                                                                           Visit http://www.culprit.com/html/crappiebaits.html for more on these incredible jigs.

Crappie Condos

Bucket Condos

Materials needed: Bag of concrete

                          Scrap PVC or bamboo

                          Empty 5 gallon bucket

                          Gravel

For this type we cut the bamboo stalks just below a “knuckle” to hold them in the concrete. Or you can use PVC pipe.  Fill the bucket about 3/4 up with gravel, then insert your PVC or Bamboo. After you have situated your cover, mix the concrete and pour in bucket till its full.  Let this dry for about 1-2 days, then your ready to drop for cover. I'd recommend if your condo is 10ft tall you drop it in 20ft of water, and so on.  Here is a link to an article Jerry Blake with www.actionfishingtrips.com wrote on the subject.

Above is a picture of one way to use the New Culprit Paddle Tail Minnow. This lure features the classic minnow shape with a “kicking” paddle tail for a lifelike presentation.  If your missing alot of fish, this is a good solution.

Comeback often for new articles and guest columnist.

Below is a trailer full of bamboo.
